Osvaldo:

Primero que nada Bienvenido al Foro.

Con relación a tu pregunta, el único caballo llamado Monarca que conozco era colombiano.

Saludos,

3- Monarca de K-9 nacido en 1986

Article from Pasoregistry.com
Monarca was born in Puerto Rico May 16th, 1959. His PFHA# is 423 (42359PR73).He was registered in the name of Dr. Manuel Perez Martinez of Santurce, PR. Arturo Barreto owned his sire, Principe.
Principe was also an Island champion. Juan A. Pons was the owner of Monarca's dam, Merengue.

Dr. Jose M. Martinez imported Monarca to his Jay Em Paso Fino Ranch in Thonotasassa, Florida. This ranch was near Tampa, Florida about twelve miles west of the ranch. His arrival was around June 11,1973. Monarca was 14 years old at the time. Mr. Martinez chartered two aircraft's to fly his
eighty some Paso's to his ranch via way of Ramey AF base to St. Petersburg, Fl.

It was possibly the largest ranch in the USA. Mr. Martinez had raised cattle and Paso's for over twenty years in PR. Monarca still claimed the Bella Forma title in his shows upon arrival to the states. He was shown as a class A stallion in 1966, 1967, and 1968. He was listed as Grand Champion in 1967. He was also used as the illustration on page 22 and figure A in Mr. LaHood's and Mrs. McWilliams book on Paso finos. He participated in the Movie Cristobolito , the Calypso Colt, in the show, too.

Mrs. June B. Pinkham leased Monarca and later purchased him and Monarca went to Jupiter Fl. to live near the famed celebrity, Mr. Burt Reynolds. Monarca was invited to many great occasions hosted at the Reynolds ranch. In fact Mr. Reynolds liked and admired him so much , he bought Amarillo Amante, Monarca's son, and bred him to his pinto Arabian mares. There are placemats
with this beautiful granddaughter of Monarca named BR's Valentine. He sired 27 other offspring.

The author has personally ridden Marquesa and Delicadeza de Romanso and seen Mambi, Amarillo, El Dulce FN and La Nina de Romanso.Monarca at age 24 years old was ridden by Mrs. Pinkham in the Pompano Paradecelebrating it's 75th anniversary for the town. Mrs. Pinkham bred him to her mare Tabatha prior to Barbara Preiss's purchase of him. Platina de Monarca soon became a #1 top ten dam by her famed daughter ZsaZsa Imperial bred by Bob and Betty Gardner of Middletown , Fl.
and owned by Mary Fedak of Crawfordville, Fl. On August 12 th, 1983, he was purchased by Barbara Preiss of Brandon , Fl. He was 24 years old and still bred a few mare owned by Karen Elibol in NY and by JW Ray of Lithia, Fl.

Barbara had many prized granddaughters of Monarca by El Dulce FN. FN stood for Mr. Frank Noyas of Brandon ,FL. Mr. Noyas also owned Coral LaCE at this time. Mr. Noyas also bred many of his mares to Monarca while owned by Mr.Martinez.

Famous Paso's such as Coral's Monarca de Vez, Willow Wind Mako, Coral de Vez, and Coral's Alejandro de Vez are results of these granddaughters offspring. Coral's Monarca de Vez is owned by Isaac Wyler of Colorado City, Arizona. He won the Speed gait race of all gaited breeds in Bozeman, Mt. and took third place in barrels , poles, and team penning. He is also National driving
champion. Willow Wind Mako won so many tiles, they are too numerous to mention. Coral de Vez won Florida state champion in Performance and Pleasure. Coral's Alejandro de Vez won the 2000 National Largo Race.

Monarca and Willow were out of Nevada Princesa Mako owned by Barbara and Wayne Preiss of Weirsdale, Fl. Alejandro was out of Ibis, owned by Alex and Madge Ogilvie of Lady Lake, Fl. Coral de Vez was out of Tomoka Miedosa owned by Wayne and Barbara Preiss of Weirsdale ,Fl.

Monarca was a chocolate palomino stallion that was still very strong under saddle even age 28 years of age. He was fifteen hands and beautiful even to the day he died. He was so happy the last days of his life with the last mare he was breeding the owners did not take her home from him. They brought
Monarca gifts and their mare food and they stayed out under the trees happy as could be. One morning Monarca was down in the pasture. This was not unusual, because this author and owner would have to go out and on the count of three, both gave every thing they had and Monarca could get up. This ritual had gone on for several months. This morning , he would not try. The veterinarian was called and steroids were given and a sling was rigged and if Monarca if he could have spoken, he would have stated , "Don't let me loose my dignity!" He was euthanized and buried in the front yard . He is still thought of and admired by all who knows and walks near his grave.
He died at 31 years old.

Elizabeth,

Bienvenida al Paso Fino Forum. Me alegra que tengas a "Tormenta de Oro" y si me permites ta hago unas preguntas;

1. ¿Quienes son los padres de Tormenta de Oro?
2. ¿La yegua está inscrita en alguna entidad? porque basado en eso, se te puede decir a donde seria más facil competirla.

Gracias y nuevamente bienvenida al foro ...
